Qualifications and Competencies:
Palladyne AI is looking for a Sr. Systems Engineer with an outstanding track record for the stage of your career. The Sr. Systems Engineer will design, administer, and oversee the implementation, organization, and troubleshooting of the server, storage, hardware, software, cloud services, and underlying communications protocols of IT systems and cloud platforms. Candidates must have the following skills, experience and qualifications:
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Strong understanding of server hardware/software, storage systems, and cloud platforms (e.g., IaaS and PaaS).
  • Strong understanding of Cyber Security concepts and techniques.
  • Thorough understanding of network technologies and protocols.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Role/Responsibilities:
  • Designs, implements, maintains, and oversees IT servers and enterprise systems to ensure appropriate confidentiality and privacy of sensitive data.
  • Design, implement, maintain, monitor, and oversee Windows & Linux (on-premises) servers—both dedicated hardware and virtualize servers.
  • Design, implement, maintain, monitor, and oversee Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, Exchange, and O365.
  • Design, implement, maintain, monitor, and oversee enterprise storage services including SAN, NAS, and DAS solutions.
  • Design, implement, maintain, monitor, and oversee systems using accepted security principles such as Center for Internet Security (CIS) and/or vendor hardening recommendations in support of NIST security framework.
  • Design, implement, maintain, monitor, and oversee remote system management tools.
  • Design, implement, maintain, monitor, and oversee the application of system upgrades and security configurations.
  • Design, implement, maintain, monitor, and oversee backup and disaster recovery solutions of systems.
  • Design, implement, maintain, monitor, and oversee standard operating and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Leads projects and assigned teams related to assigned duties.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience with server and systems, including multiple operating systems, topologies, and protocols, required.
  • A+, Server+, Network+, Security+, and/or similar certifications required.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:
  • This position is located in Salt Lake City, UT and is not a remote position
  • This is a full-time, overtime-exempt position, classified as at-will employment
  • Work is generally performed Monday through Friday, with the ability to work overtime and weekends as needed
  • Safety awareness is essential at all times while in the work area
  • Must be able to stand and sit for extended times

This position requires access to export controlled technical data. Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technical data prior to beginning work. Business demands may require Palladyne AI to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
